Any chance that ID posts podcasts or transcripts of the lectures? This one sounds like a great addition to the service design canon.

Jon, your statements about short term focus definitely ring true for most large companies. And it's due in large part to the incentives for executives and lower employees (and other stakeholders). That structure for rewarding the short term, seems to fly in the face of design thinking. How can that ever be overcome?
